Olly Murs has cancelled two upcoming gigs after being forced to leave the stage in Glasgow 20 minutes into his performance.

The Troublemaker singer apologised to fans and said he was "truly gutted and upset", but had been advised to rest his voice for 48 hours by doctors.

Shows in Manchester on Friday and Birmingham on Saturday have been scrapped.

But Murs hoped he would be able to perform in London on Sunday and Brighton next week to complete his current tour.

The former X Factor contestant was only six songs into his set at the OVO Hydro venue when he had to call it quits, leaving fans disappointed.

Refunds for the cancelled shows will be processed within a week.

In a social media post on X Murs wrote: "To everyone in Glasgow last night, I want to start by saying sorry. What happened last night has never happened to me before and I'm truly gutted and upset about it.

"In 15 years I've never had to leave the stage after 30 minutes into a show, but my voice was failing me.

"I was panicking and worrying on what to do which gave me no choice but to address it. The thought of upsetting people and letting you the fans down has hit me hard today."
