Former Radio 1 DJ Tim Westwood bailed over rape charges

Wearing a dark grey shirt at the hearing, he spoke to confirm his full name, address and date of birth.

He was released on bail, on the condition that he does not contact prosecution witnesses.

His case will next be heard at Southwark Crown Court on 8 December.

He has been charged with the following offences:

Mr Westwood was an early champion of hip-hop in the UK and joined Radio 1 to host his rap show from 1994. He left in 2013 and then hosted a show on Capital Xtra until 2022.
