Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour embrace at Stranger Things premiere

Stranger Things stars Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour laughed and embraced on the red carpet at the latest premiere for their hit Netflix show, appearing to put unconfirmed recent reports of discord behind them.

Netflix posted footage of the pair laughing and joking together in front of crowds and media before the launch of the fifth and final season of the hugely successful sci-fi series in Los Angeles.

It comes after the Mail on Sunday reported that Brown had filed a "harassment and bullying claim" against Harbour before filming began last year.

Asked at the premiere about working with him, she told Extra: "It's been amazing, we're so lucky to have each other, the show means so much to both of us, to everyone here."

Harbour told Entertainment Tonight: "I adore her, I've been proud to watch all of them grow up to become such great artists.

"I doubt it'll be the last time we'll work together... This particular family and project has been so special and we've gotten to know each other so deeply, you rarely get to do this in this business."

Asked about the recent reports, one of the show's co-creators, Ross Duffer, told The Hollywood Reporter that while he "couldn't get into personal onset matters", the cast of 10 years were "family" who they cared deeply about, adding: "Nothing matters more than just having a set where everyone feels safe and happy."

Executive producer Shawn Levy, when asked how production "makes sure everyone feels safe and respected", replied: "You have to create a respectful workplace where everyone feels comfortable and safe, and so we did everything to build that environment. And we're proud of the fact that we did so."

He added: "I've read a bunch of stories and they range from wildly inaccurate to... there's so much noise around it. But the truth is that we view this crew and this cast as family, and so we treat each other with respect, and that's always been bedrock."

Stranger Things is one of Netflix's most popular shows of all time.

Brown plays Eleven, gifted with superpowers she uses to battle supernatural forces terrorising the inhabitants of Hawkins, Indiana.

Harbour, as Jim Hopper, takes on a fatherly role to protect her, which can cause tensions between their characters as she tries to lead as normal a life as she can with her friends.

The new series, which also stars Winona Ryder, mostly takes place 18 months after the end of season four, although the forthcoming launch episode will take viewers back to six days before Will Byers, one of the children in Hawkins, first went missing.

The first four episodes will be available in the US from 26 November, with the next three arriving on Christmas Day, and the finale on New Year's Eve. In the UK those releases will be a day later.

Netflix, Brown and Harbour did not respond to the Mail on Sunday story.

He has also recently been in the headlines after ex-wife Lily Allen's new record West End Girl offered a detailed account of their split, amid accusations of infidelity.

In interviews, Allen stressed that the lyrics aren't necessarily the gospel truth - because she "wasn't sure what was real, and what was in my head" as she processed the end of the relationship.

Brown, 21, is also used to being the subject of media interest, having spoken out over press intrusion and speculation, particularly about her appearance.

"I respect journalism. I love reading articles on my favorite people and hearing what they're up to," she told Vogue in an interview published this week.

"I understand that there's paparazzi, even though it's invasive, even though it feels like [bad] to me - I know that's your job...

"But don't, in your headline, slam me at the get-go. It is so wrong and it is bullying, especially to young girls who are new to this industry and are already questioning everything about it."
